A character originally created for popular 80’s sit com Cheers, newly divorced Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) returns to Seattle to take a job as a radio psychiatrist, where he makes a friend in his producer, the feisty and rather “romantically active” Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin).

After his father, ex policeman Martin (John Mahoney) suffers a fall, Frasier and his equally ostentatious brother and fellow psychiatrist Niles (David Hyde Pierce) decide their ex-policeman father must move in with Frasier… along with Martin’s comfy but tatty armchair, Eddie the dog and his kooky, English physiotherapist Daphne Moon (Jane Leeves), who despite claiming psychic abilities, fails to notice Niles blatant infatuation with her for seven seasons!

Invariably the two Dr Cranes suffer from the odd spot of professional and sibling rivalry while their pompous upper-class interests and fine tastes occasionally clash with unpretentious Martin who would take a beer over a glass of champagne any day.
