Bergerac was one of the classic BBC crime dramas of the 80s, running from 1981 to 1991; this complete Bergerac box set contains all 9 series, plus six specials on 27 DVDs. Set in Jersey the show follows Detective Sergeant Jim Bergerac (John Nettles, who later went on to Midsomer Murders) as a detective in ‘Le Bureau des Étrangers’ part of the Jersey Police.

Unlike other crime dramas at the time, Jim Bergerac’s approach to investigating is some what unconventional, despite his boss wishing that he would stick to the established practices, Jim’s optimism and charm carry him through. It’s this charm that also brings Bergerac a number of romantic liaisons, but his passion for detective work seems to always get in the way.

Whilst previous DVD releases of Bergerac (Series 1 and 6) were subject to being edited down from the original versions, this box set is truly complete with all episodes included at their full length. If you’re a fan of Bergerac, or just TV crime shows in general, then this box set will be a great addition to your DVD collection.
