Father Ted - The Definitive DVD Collection
This laugh-out-loud comedy is undoubtedly one of the best sitcoms of the 90s. An unusual blend of comedy, satire and anarchic surrealism has made it a cult favourite.
The plot line is fantastic with Roman Catholic priest Father Ted (Dermot Morgan) being exiled to remote Craggy Island after a misappropriation of some church funds. He finds himself sharing a house with ridiculously stupid Father Dougal (Ardal O’Hanlon) and drunken Father Jack (Frank Kelly).
Father Ted craves fame, glory and a better life off the Island but in the meantime the Priest trio spend their time dressing up as Elvis, provoking nuns and trying to escape from the largest lingerie department in Ireland.
They are taken care of by Mrs Doyle (Pauline McLynn) who spends her time frantically trying to clean the living room window without exposing her legs when disembarking from the windowsill. She is most famous for her never-ending supply of tea and God help anyone who turns it down.
This fantastic box set is a must for all Father Ted fans. It contains all the episodes from the three year series plus extras including ‘Comic Relief with Ted and Dougal’.
